Is this puzzle box suitable for kids?
Yes, keebox purple is suitable for kids starting at the age of 10 as well as adults of all ages.
However, keebox purple is quite a step up in difficulty compared to our level 1 puzzle box, the keebox blue.
Especially for younger kids it can be fun to solve the puzzle together while letting them take the lead. Many children are more patient than adults, so give them time to explore and discover the mechanisms.
If you already know the next step, try not to reveal the solution. Instead give subtle hints that guide them in the right direction.
What exactly is the material “PLA”?
Polylactic Acid (PLA) is a biodegradable thermoplastic polyester made from renewable resources such as corn starch, sugarcane, or cassava. It is a popular eco-friendly bioplastic widely used in 3D printing, food packaging and medical devices.
Properties: PLA has high strength and stiffness similar to traditional plastics such as polystyrene or PET. However it has lower heat resistance and should not be exposed to temperatures above 40°C / 104°F, as it may soften or warp (for example inside cars or when exposed to direct sunlight).
Environmental impact: PLA is industrially compostable and can break down into natural elements within approximately 12 weeks under industrial composting conditions.
Limitations: PLA requires specific industrial composting facilities and cannot be recycled in standard household recycling programs.
